About our paint

Interior paint finishes
There are many different types of interior paint finishes, all of which refer to the final paint finish's reaction to light. A description of interior latex paints listed below.

Interior latex faints:
Flat / Matte
This type of paint does not consist of any real gloss or sheen, and reflects light instead of absorbing it. Typically recommended to new painters, it is easy to apply and has a forgiving quality known to hide surface imperfections, brush and roll on marks. Due to its propensity to absorb moisture and fade over time, Matte Finish paints are ideal for areas in the home that do not require frequent cleaning or are exposed to high humidity.

Eggshell
This type of paint is similar to a matte finish but known to elude a hint of glossy sheen. As with the Canvas Home Basics Line of Paint, Eggshell paint finishers are known to be interchangeable with matte paint consisting of minimum glow.

Satin Finish
This type of paint is considered the middle ground between Matte Finish and Semi-High Gloss Finish paint. Most designers discourage painters from using anything higher than Satin paint finish for any rooms apart from the bathroom and kitchen. This paint is not shiny but does have a smooth gloss. Satin Finish is not ideal for hiding surface imperfections as well as the Egg shell paint.

Semi-gloss / High-gloss
This type of pain is known to and the paint is known to discolour overtime due to their ability to reflect light instead of absorbing it and show many surface imperfections. Commonly used in the higher traffic areas and surfaces that require constant washing, these paints are usually chosen for trim, furniture, cabinets, kitchens and bathrooms.
